Sustainability

Climate and environmental protection are the greatest challenges of our time. Hans Schröder GmbH has therefore made it its top priority to conserve resources, save energy, reduce waste and avoid waste. The aspects that we essentially consider in this regard:

Location
Since 2017 the employees of Hans Schröder GmbH have been working at the new location in the Erich-Keßlerstraße. The modern, energy-efficient buildings are embedded in a generous plot of unsealed green spaces with natural meadows, on which native plant species with high ecological benefits have been deliberately settled.

The company's own photovoltaic system covers its entire electricity requirements. The entire heating energy requirement, e.g. for the highly efficient underfloor heating in offices and production rooms, is generated exclusively via a fully automatic pellet system (low-temperature system) with heat exchanger. The pellets themselves come from regional, certified sustainable forestry.

Production
We manufacture our products with respect for the environment. We pay particular attention to the careful, resource-saving planning of the production process in order to minimise material losses and avoid production errors.

For a long product life, we rely on high-quality materials along the supply chain and careful selection of all partners involved. The majority of our product range consists of materials that are produced almost exclusively from renewable raw materials such as paper, cardboard and paperboard. These can be fed into the recycling process at the end of their useful life.

Packaging & Shipping
Hans Schröder GmbH is aware of its responsibility to pollute the environment as little as possible with waste. For this reason, environmentally friendly variants are selected for the packaging and shipping materials of the products. The packaging and shipping materials themselves can be recycled by the end consumer via the available recycling systems. Hans Schröder GmbH has licensed packaging in accordance with the applicable Packaging Act (VerpackG) using a dual system, paid the so-called "licence fee" and registered with the Central Packaging Register Office.

The dual systems ensure that the packaging is professionally collected, sorted and recycled after disposal by the end consumer (e.g. via the yellow bin, the yellow sack, the paper or glass container). In other words, the licensing of sales packaging ensures that take-back and recovery by the dual systems work and that the packaging materials placed on the market are reused at the highest possible recycling rate.
