High-quality protective packaging preserves values

Nowadays, many documents are processed digitally and archived in parallel in archive boxes, sleeves, folders and pockets made of special cardboard, paperboard or paper. While many documents have to be stored according to legal requirements in offices (and then disposed of after the storage period has expired), in archives, museums, libraries and private or public collections, the corresponding records are often stored for much longer, usually many decades, ideally even centuries.

For the proper, clearly arranged and above all protected storage of paper-based documents, special archive packaging is required which not only saves space but also protects the archive material in the long term. For many years, Hans Schröder GmbH has stood for solutions with which cultural assets are safely stored. Photos, written documents, maps and many other objects can be preserved for future generations in the best possible way.

The right quality for every requirement

We have divided our archive boxes into three quality levels so that you can see at first glance which packaging is best suited to your requirements. All materials for archiving documents have in common that they are acid-free, have a pH value between 7.5 and 10 and have sufficient alkali reserves in the form of a CaCO3 buffer of more than 2 percent to stop the over-acidification and yellowing of the archive documents.

Packaging of the CLASSIC quality grade is made of acid-free, pH neutral archival cardboard. We offer a wide range of different archive boxes in this material quality - from simple filing boxes in DIN A4 format and reversible boxes to standing and folding boxes as well as front flap boxes with slipcase. These represent a very cost-effective way of archiving brochures, printed matter, notes and other paper documents in a protected manner.

Packaging of the PREMIUM quality level is made of acid-free, pH neutral archival cardboard with a kappa value of 4.0 to 10.0 and an equally high pulp content. The materials are resistant to ageing and have passed the Photographic Activity Test (PAT) according to ISO 18916 (formerly ISO 14523). In addition to classic archive boxes in DIN A4 format, we also offer stand-up and photo boxes, telescope boxes and magazine racks in smaller DIN and common photo formats.

For particularly demanding archive materials we recommend our selected packaging products in PREMIUM PLUS quality made of 100% cellulose. Whether it is a gatefold or a reversible box, a juris and insert folder or the compact "Mercator" quiver box for rolled drawings, maps, posters, plans and other documents in large format: All of them meet the requirements of the ISO 9706 standard as well as the particularly strict specifications of ISO 16245-A.

Document archiving: How to find the right packaging

To find your way around this extensive range more easily and quickly, it is best to use the convenient filter options. Select one or more filter criteria and limit the selection of products to those that meet your requirements.

Of course, you can also combine several filter options to further limit the number of search results. For example, you can search specifically for archive materials that are suitable for a certain format and then specify them in more detail, for example by specifying where the opening should be located. You can make your selection by clicking on the down arrow (you will see it to the right of the filter). The individual filter criteria are displayed below the filters immediately after activation. If no results were found after using the filter, you can remove the complete filter or individual elements simply by clicking on the small "x" (next to the filter).

High quality - sustainably produced

As a family business in its second generation, we have always been committed to active environmental protection. We therefore manufacture our products in the most environmentally friendly way possible and take care to conserve natural resources and reduce material losses already during the planning of the production process. In order to guarantee the longest possible service life of the archive boxes and all archive products available from us, we always rely on high-quality materials and partners who actively support us in achieving our environmental goals.

This is one of the reasons why you will find almost exclusively products made of renewable raw materials such as paper, cardboard or paperboard, which at the end of their service life are simply returned to the recyclable material.
