Protective packaging for photographic collections

When it comes to photo archiving, it is important to take the special requirements of photographic materials into account in the best possible way when selecting the right archive boxes, sleeves, bags and albums. We offer you a large selection and variety of special protective packaging with which photo archiving can be professionally designed and permanently operated.

Photo archiving: What you should pay attention to

Old prints, negatives, slides, glass plates and other photographic materials are very sensitive and react accordingly to unfavourable storage conditions. To ensure that your photographic collection is stored without damage, it should only be stored in suitable protective packaging.

In addition, make sure that the ambient temperature in the archive rooms is permanently stable and that the humidity is as low as possible. Pollutants in the air or released to the archival materials by unsuitable packaging (such as acidic cardboard boxes, folders and sleeves made of plastic materials containing PVC) can also permanently damage them and should therefore be avoided.

Photo archiving: How to find the right packaging

For professional photo archiving we offer you a wide range of archiving materials, for example archive boxes in different formats and sizes, sleeves for archiving negatives as well as a large variety of envelopes and bags. To find your way around this extensive range more easily and quickly, it is best to use the convenient filter options. Select one or more filter criteria to narrow down the selection of products to those that meet your requirements.

Of course, you can also combine several filter options to further limit the number of search results. For example, you can search specifically for archival materials that are suitable for a certain format and then specify them in more detail, e.g. by specifying where the opening should be located. By clicking on the down arrow (you will see it to the right of the filter), you can make your selection. The individual filter criteria are displayed directly after activation below the filters. If no results were found after using the filter, you can simply remove the entire filter or individual elements by clicking on the small "x" (next to the filter).

Certified materials for secure photo archiving

In the photo archiving section, we offer you only archivally safe and long-term stable archiving materials that meet even the highest requirements. All materials have successfully passed the particularly stringent PAT (Photographic Activity Test) test procedure and thus offer optimal storage and archiving conditions for photographic collections of all types and sizes.

You can select the desired markings - in addition to PAT also the certifications according to DIN ISO 9706 and/or ISO 16245-A - in the filter. We offer you only completely acid-free materials, optionally alkaline buffered, unbuffered or for plastics of course without PVC and other plasticisers. This means that film material, negatives and prints in the archive are not exposed to any chemicals that could impair their quality.

Whether photo boxes, archive cassettes, 4-fold envelopes or transparent plastic sleeves for visual archiving: Hans Schröder GmbH offers you a particularly extensive selection of archive materials. We have everything you need to equip and operate photo archives. Order your required archive materials conveniently online here and ensure reliable and gentle photo archiving - to safeguard cultural values and irreplaceable memories.
